Jonathan consults with families in business, in both the U.S. and Israel, on goal setting, role development, governance, communication, transition, leadership and culture building. He has worked in a variety of industries including manufacturing, high tech, food service, law offices and charitable institutions. In all he is a keen observer and helps his clients gain insight they can act on.

For over 20 years, Jonathan served as a congregational rabbi. Helping families through significant transitions was central to his service. He served as a founding board member of the Cardinal Bernardin Center at Spertus College and for Southeast Lake County Faith in Action. He served on national and regional boards for AIPAC. He is currently president of Yedid Nefesh Congregation.

Jonathan has a Masters degree from the University of Virginia in Educational Measurement and both a Masters in Hebrew Letters and Doctor of Divinity from Hebrew Union College where he also received rabbinic ordination. Concurrently, he received clinical training in counseling at the University of Cincinnati.

Jonathan draws upon his experience counseling families and from the wisdom of traditional texts in his work with family businesses. His experience includes having grown up as a third generation member of his grandfather’s business which included land development, an architecture firm and rebar and concrete companies.

Jonathan and his wife Shana own and manage a land development business, Ada 13, Ltd. They have two sons. The elder is studying architecture, and the younger music composition.
